Most customers like the natural look, the product can be used with no further treatment. However if you want to apply a finish it is super easy peasy. Firstly we strongly advise you assemble the product first, this ensures you are happy with the quaility and makes it easier to apply the finish. Our Commitment to Environmental Sustainability. We even use staple less staplers in the office! &#######xA0; For this reason, we only&#######xA0;source our solid timber from FSC and PEFC approved forests. Solid slats are more durable and provide greater levels of support than sprung slats, which are often made using cheap woods and finishes like Veneers, Laminate and MDF. The thickness of these materials are less than half the density of our solid slats. A common misunderstanding is that the movement of sprung slats provide support. The opposite is true as continuous movement weakens the frame and wears down your mattress. Providing uneven support for your body that significantly deteriorates over time. Never settle for less than solid slats for your bed. All our base slats are SOLID PINE, extra wide (70mm) and extra thick (19mm).
